Value proposition

The Prepared Contract API provides the services required to handle the contracting process after a proposal has been approved by BPLS (upon full eligibility and anti-fraud checks), including the preparation of the signature process.

Key features

The main service allows the creation of a prepared contract, from a previously approved proposal. This is the stage where the contract is prepared for signature.

Two other services allow to set the bank information and the signatory (or signatories) on the contract, as they are required to start the signature process. The bank information is checked for a valid format as well as to confirm the account holder (against fraud concerns). Initially, only one signatory may be set on a contract. It must be one of the authorized signatories (as provided by the Customer API).

After the contract has been signed, a service allows the partner to access the purchase order.

Events

The following events generate a notification (see Notification Subscription for details).

  • Cancelled (the proposal has been cancelled in BPLS systems)
  • Purchase Order available (the PO has been generated and is ready to access, after the contract has been signed)
  • In the future, expired (the proposal is no longer valid, after a set period, usually 90 days)

Use cases

The creation of a prepared contract is the first step to launch the contract signature process. It must be done before after the proposal has been approved by BPLS.

A valid bank account and a signatory (or multiple signatories, in the future, selected in the list of authorized signatories for the customer) must be set on the contract before starting the signature process.

After the contract has been signed and upon reception of a notification of its availability, the partner can access the purchase order and initiate their delivery process.
